Time Travel inspired by Calvin & Hobbes

Posted on December 4, 2016March 8, 2019

It’s been over 20 years since Bill Waterson’s last daily comic in the newspaper sharing the adventures of Calvin & Hobbes.  Good news you can still enjoy these adventures through the various books he published.  I found them on Amazon.com.  The plus with the books is you can enjoy more than one adventure a day!  Bill’s imagination expressed through Calvin entertain the young and old alike.  Aliens, Snow Monsters, Dinosaurs even day to day activities with Calvin and his stuff tiger, Hobbes make us laugh.  Calvin took an ordinary cardboard box and created a Duplicator, Transmogrifier and Time Machine.  I’ve taken the Time Machine concept and added a control knob to make time travel a little more precise.

But before we head off for some Prehistoric Adventures, let’s take a look at the math behind the science.  I googled time travel equations.  The results are examined at PaulsPrehistoricPark.com School of Art, History, Language, Time Travel and other Science.  We all have our Calvin & Hobbes books for reference, as well.

Ok, I set the control for 125 million years ago to find a Raptor or two.  On the way back, I will reset for 68 million years ago to look for a Tyrannosaurus Rex family.

Wow, that was fun and a little scary!  I managed to bring back feathers.  The blue one is from the Raptor.  My travel back placed me near a nesting ground.  One of the nests was unattended, which is where I found the loose blue feather.  I left just in time.  The parent Raptor was returning.  The T-Rex feather was a real challenge.  I plucked the striped brown and beige feather as hug adult T-Rex passed below the tree I was hiding.   Glad to be back!

Raphael and Dominic are getting ready for their Time Travel Adventure.

You can have your own time travel adventures!  All you need is a cardboard box & your imagination.
